The City of Watervliet owns property along Mill Creek on the south side of East St. Joseph Street. The access road is immediately west of the bridge and 0.1 miles east of the intersection with M-140 (Main Street). There is a gravel driveway with a small gravel parking lot at the end.
The stream width is approximately 20 feet at this site. Mill Creek is wadeable, but anglers should be alert for deep holes and tripping hazards. The stream becomes highly turbid after rain events. There is additional access to the creek at the Carmody Road and Dan Smith Road crossings. Outside of the City of Watervliet parks, most of the stream flows through private land. Please stay in the stream and be respectful of private property.
