Access site is at Ketchum Park off of Montgomery and South Marshall Streets within the City of Marshall. The best parking is on the north side at E. Hanover Street and S. Gordon. You have to cross Rice Creek to enter that lot.
This 25-acre park is owned by the City of Marshall and is a local favorite. The northern section is an island with frontage on Rice Creek and the Rice Creek Millrace totals 2.5 miles of stream frontage. The park features playgrounds, picnicing and recreation opportunities. Fish habitat improvement was completed by Kalamazoo Valley Trout Unlimited in 2018. The eastern dam was removed, changing the habitat here, wetlands were reconnected to the traditional meandering creek. Photos provided courtesy of Ketchum Park Advisory Committee.
