North: From M-72, turn south on South Branch Road. Drive south/southwest past Canoe Harbor Campground and continue on for a total of 2.3 miles. There is a small parking area and the river is a 100 yard long walk to the east. South: From M-72, turn south on South Branch Road. Drive south/southwest past Canoe Harbor Campground and continue on for a total of 2.4 miles. There is a small parking area beneath a tree and the river is a 100 yard long walk to the east.
Cobble, gravel and sand substrate are all present here. The angler must walk east from the parking areas off South Branch Road. The Mason Tract Pathway parallels the river in this area and provides multiple access points. The parking lot offers room for a handful of vehicles at both turnoffs from South Branch Road. This is in the Mason Tract of State forest land.
