There is a sign which states "Mason Tract", drive .6 miles further and you will find the parking area. From M-72: turn south on South Branch Road, continue past the Canoe Harbor Campground for a total of 4.1 miles. Bear left at the Y in the road and take the two-track for a half a mile. Turn left onto the road that marks the west entrance to Durant's castle Follow this for .1 miles and turn left at the sign marking the Mason Tract. Drive .6 miles further where you will find the parking area.
Cobble, gravel and sand substrate are all present here. The parking lot offers room for multiple vehicles but it is sandy at times and narrow. This is a very scenic area that offers the angler a more remote feel. This is in the Mason Tract of State forest land.
